Biography
A dabble in his life!
Inspired by various children’s shows, Matthew’s first producing credit dates back to 2009, at the ripe old age of 5, when he actively produced The Matthew Show in his backyard! Since then, he knew the stage was calling his name. Originally from Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin, the small-town native is known for bubbling energy on and off stage.
This May, he will graduate from Oakland University with a BFA in Musical Theatre and set his sights on working on stories full of wit and that challenge conversation. Through his education, he has had the privilege of working with industry professionals, including Danny Gurwin, Karen Sheridan, Rachel Stevens, and Jacob ben Widmar. During his studies, Matthew has portrayed various roles, including Dennis Shepherd in The Laramie Project, and most recently, the role of Inspector Kemp in Young Frankenstein. His commitment to the department was recognized during his third year, when he earned one of the department’s prestigious MaTilDa Awards. His passion for theatre extends beyond performing, as evidenced by his skill in directing and interest in administrative work. This past fall, he directed the play Every Day She Rose as part of his senior capstone. He previously interned with the Contemporary American Theatre Festival in 2025, where he was promoted from Box Office Intern to Assistant Box Office Manager.
Matthew hopes to travel with his work, whether that means performing in a new region of the country, on cruise ships, or on a tour. He is a lover of coffee and is sure to find a cozy café, and without fail, is sure to find a new friend– preferably one who has a cat companion!
